Piracy Issue in Bollywood

The adult comedy film 'Great Grand Masti' was scheduled to be released on the 22nd July. But, due to the piracy issue the date was changed to 15th July.

The HD quality of the movie with the watermark of 'Censor-Copy' was available on the torrent sites in 5th July. Before, Great Grand Masti, the movie 'Udta-Punjab' was also available in the internet with the same watermark of 'Censor-Copy' It shows the involvement of the censor board in leaking the movies. Both movies were produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Sultan, Salman Khan starer blockbuster, was also released in the dark sites before the release. Later, all available movie links were removed from the internet. Before, Majhi - The Mountain Man was also leaked on the internet before one week of its release date with the watermark of 'Censor-Copy'

There can be several reasons behind the piracy of movies before its release. Some of them are:
> Increase in access to internet
> Lack of monitoring about piracy
> Weak law about cyber crime
> Unorganized protest of filmmakers
> Increase in torrent sites
