"One cigarette please" I heard a female voice. That voice was short,
melodious but not sweet. I raised my head to know where was the initial
point of that voice. And found that she was a girl of about 19 years
with an average beauty.
"Hey, Come in. It's safe to smoke here. I used to smoke here often" she insisted someone who was outside. I guess the girl in outside was hesitating to enter in the cafe. The cafe was Sadikchya's Bakery of Naxal. 'Please, make her enter' I prayed to God silently. Its because the beauty of first girl did not attracted me and I was hoping some attraction from the latter one.
"Here you are" the owner of the cafe gave the cigarette to them in the rude voice. I did not like that owner. I was the only customer in that entire cafe till then and I was studying the Half-Girlfriend very deeply. Both of them entered in the cafe and sat in the table just before me. We were facing each other. I was seeing them, They were seeing me.
I saw both of them and found out that the girl who ordered the cigarette was more beautiful than the next one. Poor Me. I started reading the book showing the expression of loser.
"Didi, Make the next cup of tea" I shouted in a tiny voice. Both of them looked up me, I was also staring at them. I felt a kind of uncomfortable so again I dived in the book although I was keenly interested in them rather than in book.
"Here You are, Take the tea" again the rude voice said after 6 minutes and 23 seconds. Till then I did not look at them. The sign if "Self Service" was just before me so I got up to fetch the tea.
"Yes, I am at Sadikchya's Bakery to Smoke. It is quite secure here" the first girl was telling it to someone on her phone. I was back in my table and I resumed my study. The next girl was feeling irritated I could see that. Her friend was busy in phone so she has nothing to do for timepass.
"You can join me" I said by all my guts. I could feel my heartbeat. Was it about to pop out? 'Oh God! Save me' I prayed to God. It was my first attempt to talk with a totally unknown girl. I was proud of myself.
"Yeah, Sure" the girl stood up and sat just in front of me. BINGO.
"How often do you smoke?" I asked her. The question was totally out of context still I asked it. Its because I had read somewhere that people becomes more friendly due to alcohol and cigarette. I chose the latter one.
"Daily" she replied in dead voice. Was she not interested in my talk? "And you?" she again asked with big bright eyes and a question mark in it. The first girl was still busy in her phone. She gave three consecutive kisses on the phone. Did the person on the other end feel it?
"No, no Never. I had not smoke till today" I replied with the feeling of I am gentleman but you are not. "Oh! then you are the whom girl wants to make husband not the boyfriend" she said.
Epilogue:
I was standing inside the famous Nepal Yatayat of the town. Two modern looking girl were in front of me. One girl was wearing miniskirt while the other one was wearing a blue faded jeans with 16 holes on it (some people says it grunge too) and she was wiping out her tears.
"Whats the matter?" the girl in the miniskirt asked to the girl who was crying. "He said that he won't marry me because I can only be Girlfriend not Wife" she replied.
My smiling face was reflected on the rear mirror of the bus.
